  2. To promote the highest standards and integrity for professional FIELD GUIDES and TRACKERS, and to encourage all involved in the profession to adhere to a common Code of Conduct.
  3. To promote environmental awareness and the conservation of all forms of our Southern African natural heritage, as well as the preservation of related skills and knowledge.
  4. To encourage and facilitate training programmes for persons, especially the young, the previously disadvantaged and the potential teachers, entering the FIELD GUIDING profession.
  5. To create an organisation that is recognised by the private sector as well as Government Agencies and which would be competent to negotiate with such bodies on all matters relating to the industry.
  6. To encourage and facilitate interaction between FIELD GUIDES and TRACKERS within Southern Africa and elsewhere by means of newsletters, magazines, workshops and the electronic media.
