Itinerary
Day 1
If departing from Lilongwe, Malawi, we meet at approx 09.00 hours to depart Lilongwe in the transfer bus or vehicle. Continue to Mchinji (1&1/2 hr drive). Here we complete immigration formalities and continue to Mwami (the Zambian border). From the border it is a short drive to Chipata, Zambia's capital of the Eastern Province. Proceed on a dirt road to the Luangwa Valley, Mfuwe sector. A picnic lunch is enjoyed en route and estimated time of arrival at the Lodge is mid afternoon. On arrival you will be welcomed by the lodge management and a refreshing drink will be ready for you, check into your chalets will be followed by tea and coffee. Evening Dinner is served from 19.30 hours onwards.

Day 2
After a light snack with tea & coffee we depart for a morning game drive at 06.00 hours. All game drives are undertaken in open game viewing vehicles by an experienced guide, to optimise your pleasure and wildlife encounters. Drinks and snacks are taken along for your enjoyment whilst in the park. Please ensure that you are well guarded against the sun and have binoculars and cameras ready and operational. Depending on game sightings, we return to the lodge between 10 and 11 am for a scrumptious 'brunch'. An afternoon rest, swim, tea then we again head out for your afternoon/night drive at around 16.00 hours, returning to the lodge at 20.00 hours. Driving in the dark with spotlights on will really bring you the ultimate wildlife experience. The evening dinner will be served to you shortly after returning at the lodge by our chef de cuisine.

Day 3
Tea, coffee and a light snack follow an early morning wake up call. Our aim is to again depart as early as possible. Drinks and snacks are taken with for your enjoyment whilst in the park. Depending on game sightings, we return to the lodge between 10 and 11 am for another delicious 'brunch'. An afternoon rest or a visit to the neigbouring village or tribal textiles craft shop, followed by tea, coffee and biscuits then we again head out for our afternoon drive at 16.00 ours and return at 20.00 hours. Our chef and the sounds of the bush will ensure an unforgetable evening dinner.

Day 4
This morning, with a more leisurely start to the day with a later breakfast, after which you pack up and return back to Lilongwe or get dropped of in Mfuwe town or Chipata. A picnic lunch is eaten en route and estimated time of arrival in Lilongwe city is around 15.00 hours. A free drop off service is offered in Lilongwe

The Luangwa Valley - 9050 sq km of pristine woodland and riverine vegetation plays host to over 40 mammal and 650 bird species. The South Luangwa has been described as the premier park in Africa foremost for the variety of species seen when visiting. Thornicroft - This newly built Lodge is situated on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the National Park. The lodge offers good food, quality bedding to ensure a good nights sleep and luxurious accommodation in canvass and stone en suite chalets each with its own private veranda, facing the river. Each room has been carefully positioned to afford guests maximum enjoyment and the wide open view will give you a maximum wildlife experience, still having the facilities to enjoy your privacy. Professionally guided drives are undertaken in specially modified 4 wheel drive game viewing vehicles to enhance your wildlife pleasure and experience.
