Learn About Vintage Destinations
"A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.'
Tim Cahill

Timothy Jackson
CEO, Owner

History
Timothy's interest in Africa and wildlife started as a child. By 1998 his course was set, and by 2002 a relationship with Vintage Safaris owned by James Egreemont-Lee was formed, which led to the formation of a joint venture called 'The Vintage Camps'; a portfolio of tented camps throughout Southern Africa. Throughout this period and during the years of personal travel, guiding groups and formal guide training, it became very apparent to Timothy that the safari industry was lacking travel consultants who know the destinations they are selling. It is with this gap in the travel market 'Vintage Desinations' was born to fill.

The missing link...
It is crucial that the consultant creating a tour knows the locations, the guides, the vehicles and all the components required to make a successful safari. This is what Vintage Destinations can offer you and this does not have to come at a higher price. We are sensitive to everyone's budget and needs and tailor tours accordingly.

Background
Timothy has a background in education with 8 years in the classroom where he believes strongly in living a life of life-long learning. With formal field & trails guide training in Africa and many cherished expeditions around the world including feature tours he guides each year with his clients this all makes for an exciting life that he feels most humbled by and which he wishes to share.

Timothy started his love of Africa and Nature at age five watching David Attenborough Television series and growing up on a large dairy/sheep farm where he was closely connected with nature. Timothy’s Godparents farmed in the Kenyan Highlands for many years, and this connection, started what has now become, a way of life for him, and to which he is very thankful to them both - Robin & Pat Morgan - Thank you!
